Speaking of something that feels like home, I ran across this blog today, and though I only read a few posts, it was nice to "hear" from someone posting in England. Check it out: Unique British Gifts

Hi Amanda

This is Pete Witts from Cheshire, England.

I've arrived at your blogsite thanks to your very kind comments on our Unique British Gifts blog.

What nice sentiments regarding your handmade wedding gifts. Aren't these one-of-a-kind gifts just the greatest? Full of thought, with a real personal touch! You don't get this at the mall!

My wife Alison and I run a small online gift store, Unique British Gifts. We set this store up specifically to give people access to something different. We champion some truly great small-scale artisan giftware producers here in the UK; People that make individual, one-of-a-kind gifts - the absolute antithesis of the mass-produced robot-created gifts available at the mall!

We're proud that you and some of your fellow citizens (our new customers) seem to like what we do!

Your support is truly appreciated. Only when such sentiments are spread (isn't the Internet a great thing sometimes?) will people stop behaving like lemmings, automatically rushing headlong into the nearest mall for stuff. Instead they might think about what they're buying and spread some true joy through meaningful gifts that show people really care for one another.

Anyway, many thanks for your kind thoughts once again and for pointing your friends to consider our rantings!

Alison and I wish you and your husband genuine best wishes for your new life ahead.
